May 30, Juneau, Alaska

Apologies for the brief posting yesterday, we only have wi-fi when we are in port and Dirk was writing the comments as we were pulling away from the dock.  The first photo was taken at our first Official Evening.
We cruised through the night and arrived at Tracy Arm Fjord at about 6 am, unfortunately the captain was unable to go very far up the up the fjord because of all the floating ice. He turned this enormous ship around and went to another area.  We arrived in Juneau at 2.15pm.  After docking we disembarked and went on our much awaited float plane flight. We were not sure whether we were doing the right thing, these planes look very scary at times.  Well we thoroughly enjoyed our flip and it was not as scary as it looked.  The photographs just don't do this area justice. The scenery is unbelievable.

May 24, Seattle/Tacoma, Washington

We awoke this morning to a grey day, not to be put off by a little cloud we set off on our planned outing which was to catch a bus then the light rail to Pioneer Square in the center of Seattle.
The reason for this trip was to do a tour of the Underground City that we missed on our last visit to Seattle.
The city has a very interesting history, the original city was lying too low and when it was destroyed by fire in 1889 the new city was built on top of the old. When we did the original city tour some years ago we were led to believe that you could tour all the old ground floor buildings, now deserted, not quite like that but still very interesting, when we emerged from the underground the weather had changed to brilliant sunshine. There is one thing we can definitely say about Seattle, their roads are terrible but their public transport is excellent and relatively cheap.

May 23, Seattle/Tacoma KOA, Washington

Made it after many more scary up and downhills, thank goodness today was only 120 miles, some very rough roads, bad marks for Washington. So we get here, check in, site 27, looks nice, put the jacks down Colleen puts the slide outs out while I connect electricity, water, sewerage, cable? hey no cable!, check on site plan, yep no cable, ok internet.Since we are here for 4 nights, Colleen goes back to office, comes back, we can move to site 133 that has cable, disconnect all, bring in slides, drop jacks, move to site 133, put down levelers etc while I connect.... connect cable, go inside to tune tv, no signal, bad internet.... Colleen goes to office, they will send somebody to check cable.
Half an hour later, a girly comes with a small tv to check, confirms no signal, says she will ask senior to come and check. Get a phone call from office to say they will refund our cable charge( which we did not pay) I say cant you give us a site with working cable, phones back later, yes we can move to site 124, ok here goes again, slides in, disconnect etc, by now we are on auto... Finally we have all services including decent internet, check tv channels, only CNN and ABC, this is liberal country so no Fox news. Tomorrow we head into town using bus and light rail for the "Seattle Underground" experience, should be fun.
