May 12, Rawlins, Wyoming

We left a wet, cold Cheyenne, Wyoming KOA.  On the road there was fog and light drizzle.  We trundled along wondering why the gearbox wasn't up-shifting until we checked the altitude, we were at 8400 ft.  Suddenly we reached the top of the hill and the weather and scenery changed.  It was like we were on another continent, the sun was shining, in the distance we could see snow capped mountains and on the side of road were patches of snow.  We now know why we enjoy traveling in the west, northwest of USA, the scenery is beautiful.

We arrived at the next camp where we were due to stop for 2 nights, but we have changed our minds and will move off in the morning.  The area the camp is in is not that great and there is an oil refinery a couple of miles down the road, which one can smell. Trust there to be something to spoil the area.
